The PTO is a fun group of parents, guardians, and teachers that have the common goal of improving the school community through fundraising events, activities, and more. You do not need to attend every meeting to join!

Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteers to help with special events, activities, fundraisers, and more. You do not need to join the PTO or PMC to volunteer. You simply sign up to help when we send home volunteer needs.  

Donate Supplies

Supplies are always high in demand at the school. Everything from pencils, to new playground equipment is needed. Helping with a donation of supplies will always help and is well received.

Creating Unity Spaces

Project Description

Mr. King has a bright idea—creating a Unity Square where kids can share their feelings and discover how others are feeling too! It’s a welcoming space that makes talking about emotions easy and fun. By opening up these conversations, students can connect, understand each other better, and feel supported when words are hard to find.

Shed Needs Love

Project Description

Let’s give our PTO shed a little love! We’re planning to add some new shelves and brighten it up with a fresh coat of paint. Join us in bringing new life to the shed and helping it last for years to come!

It is my intent to run for the following position:
Volunteer Coordinator

Description of Officers Duties:


President: Preside over all meetings of the organization. Must notify Co-Chair if unable to attend. Prepare agenda for meeting. Coordinate the work of the officers and committees so the objective may be accomplished. Submit the information to the office for FNN. Act as liaison between staff and PTO. Coordinate with newly elected chairperson for easy transition. Authorize checks over $500. Coordinate information and approve flyers to be sent out. Set calendar of events. Serve as authorized signatory on all PTO accounts. Coordinate attendance of PTO board Members at all School Board Meetings.


Co-Chair: Attend all meetings when possible. Preside over meetings when Chairperson isn’t able to attend. Assume Chairperson’s office if he/she isn’t able to complete the term. Maintain PTO binder, bring to meetings and return to office updated each month. In charge of maintaining and designing PTO’s bulletin board. Compose and send out annual survey with board's approval. Coordinate with newly elected co-chair for easier transition. Attend School Board meetings, when possible, must attend at least 2.


Secretary: Attend all PTO meetings, when possible, if unable to attend arrange for someone to take minutes. Distribute minutes from previous meetings. In event that Chair and Co-Chair cannot attend the

secretary will preside. Update and distribute annual PTO back to school flyer with approval of board. Compose minutes, send to Chair for approval, then to Website Chair, within 7 days of meeting. Coordinate with newly elected secretary for easier transition. Attend School Board meetings, when possible, must attend at least 2. Coordinate all correspondence to and from PTO board, Birthday Cards

to Staff.


Treasurer: Attend all meetings, when possible, arrange replacement if can’t attend. Serve as authorized signatory on all PTO accounts. Maintain accounts and present written balanced financial report at each meeting. Make all deposits on behalf of the PTO in a timely manner. Provide cash boxes for all PTO events. Process all funding requests in a timely manner. Process any returned checks. Coordinate with newly elected treasurer. Attend School Board meetings, when possible, must attend at least 2.


Communications: Prepare fliers and monthly newsletters to send home to families. Update and write content for PTO website and social media. Work with the school, PMC, School Site Council, and other groups to gather activity and event dates for the newsletter and website.


Volunteer Coordinator: Works with President and event leads to identify volunteer needs, reach out (via Facebook, email, school-wide text, flyers, in-person recruiting) to identify volunteers, and schedule volunteers to ensure events are fully staffed and volunteer needs are filled.


Ex-Officio: Attend meetings at request of new chairperson, as support only. Give historical information to PTO when needed. This position lasts for one year only, to ease the transition of chairpersons.
